About the J<\/strong>A<\/strong>\u00a0CHM<\/strong><\/p>

The JA CHM website has been developed as a requirement of the Clearing-House Mechanism (CHM) established under Article 18(3) of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. The JA CHM primarily collates, distributes and exchanges data and information on biodiversity and its conservation in Jamaica. The products and services on the website\u00a0www.jamaicachm.org.jm<\/a>\u00a0cater to national, regional and international users.<\/p>

Types of Data and Information<\/strong><\/p>

The major types of biodiversity data and information available to users of the JA CHM website includes as Taxonomical, Ecological, Policy, Legislation & Regulations, Scientific Assessments, Educational Resource Material, Publications, Images, Activities and Events. The website also provides a mailing list subscriber form for the electronic newsletter called\u00a0Biodiversity News<\/em>, web directory and searchable databases.<\/p>

Metadata generation is ongoing and will be updated on the\u00a0www.jamaicachm.org.jm<\/a>\u00a0website, as is necessary.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Written requests for posting datasets\/information on the website are to be submitted to the Senior Research Officer \u2013 CHM. A written response to submitted requests will be provided. The JA CHM is under no obligation to post datasets\/information in the absence of a request.<\/p>
